Call for at-risk Australians to be given flu and COVID-19 vaccines at same time
There are calls for the COVID-19 and flu vaccines to be administered at the same time for Australians at high risk, instead of waiting for the recommended 14 days between jabs, amid concerns people are putting off their vaccinations.
The Immunisation Coalition, a not-for-profit advocacy group, wants authorities to consider concurrent vaccinations for at-risk groups across Australia.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI), the expert group which provides advice to the federal government on vaccines, recommends Australians wait two weeks between their COVID-19 and flu shots to allow health workers to identify which jab is the cause of any potential side effects.
