Brisbane flood review labels event 'worst-case scenario', emergency alert system to be upgraded

An independent review into the flood event that hit Brisbane earlier this year found it was a "worst-case scenario" and the response time to the emergency was slow.

Former governor and supreme court chief justice Paul de Jersey headed the review which was initiated in an effort to better prepare Brisbane for future flooding events.

"I've reached the view that this was a worst-case scenario for Brisbane and its people," Mr de Jersey said.
